I like a good detective novel, too. Still trying to get holsd of Sue Grafton's latest - U is for something or other! Stephen Booth is one of my all time favourites, togehter with Julia Spencer-Fleming

Nice variety; some unfamiliar; guess I never thought to try to remember what I have read. Great idea.

I wasn't ill - husband had to take work in another state. It is not a good time to sell a home so I am split between both locations, spending more time at home than with him. Still have lots of adjustments to make as it will probable be two years before I am really free to join him.

Wow! We have a lot of common books in life! This post made me smile as I remembered the ones I've read in your list.. :)

Your book list is fun to read! We have read many of the same books...at different times but they fit into the years!
Heidi is a favorite at our house!

Flower- Have you discovered Heidi's Children by Charles Tritten? He is the one who translated Johanna Spyri's book. I was so glad as a young girl to know that the story continued. He also wrote Heidi Grows Up, in which Peter and Heidi get married. Hope you can find them. Holly

I've always been an Agatha Christie fan but the title that leapt out at me was Our Hearts Were Young and Gay - this is the book by Cornelia Otis Skinner and Emily Kimbrough isn't it? It takes me back to Geography classes at the end of the summer term. Our geography mistress was Miss Jones and for the last few lessons of the school year she would read to us instead of teaching and one year this was the book she chose. We (a class of about 30 14 year old girls)absolutely loved it, Miss Jones was a very good reader and had us in stitches with some of the situations that arose. That book has stayed with me ever since.
